During your exploration in the Lands Between, you will eventually get access to the exclusive place called the Roundtable Hold. This is the safe haven for the Elden Ring players and warriors to rest and restock items. This is also a place where many NPCs are hanging out. One of the NPCs we will be discussing in this article today is Ensha of the Royal Remains.
Who is Ensha of the Royal Remains?
Ensha is an NPC in the game. He is a servant of Sir Gideon Ofnir, who is another NPC in the game. His face is a skull, and he is wearing worn-out armor. The first interaction with him isn't too pleasant. He will not reply to you in words. Instead, they will just nod or react very subtly. The first time you interact with him, you will learn the gesture 'What do you want?'

Where to Find Ensha?
You can find Ensha inside the Roundtable Hold. He is standing outside Sir Gideon Ofnir's room and leaning towards the wall. He will remain harmless and not attack you until you get a certain item, which is a piece of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.
How to find the Haligtree Secret Medallion?
The Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right Part) is a medallion that is needed to operate the Grand Lift of Rold. You can find this item by traveling to the Village of the Albinaurics, south of the Raya Lucaria Academy in the Liurnia of the Lakes location.

How to unlock a battle with Ensha?
Once you have at least one piece of the medallion, Ensha's actions will be aggressive, and he will be an NPC invader. When you drop by at the Roundtable Hold, he becomes aggressive and turns into a hostile NPC who will ambush you the moment he sees your character. Unfortunately, you won't be able to avoid this battle, so your only option is to defeat him. Ensha uses different types of attacks, but the good thing is that he is not as hard as the other Elden Ring bosses, but it will be a good practice for PVP.
What happens if I get defeated by Ensha during battle?
If you're defeated, that's okay. You will respawn (and lose your runes), and when you go back to the Roundtable Hold, it will become a battlefield, and the other NPCs will not be accessible until you beat Ensha.

Ensha loot and item drops
Once you beat Ensha, you will get the Royal Remains armor, which consists of armor and a clinging bone weapon, which is nice and looks intimidating. The armor grants a good buff, which is HP regen. The weapon isn't the ideal build, but if you are in the early game and your character's level is still low, you may find the set helpful to boost your stats. Still, obtaining the royal remains set will be a good addition to your set of armor and weapons.
Can I access the Ensha questline even on the Shadow of the Erdtree?
Yes. This optional quest is included in the first game of the Elden Ring, so you can still access this during your gameplay.
Conclusion
Meeting and defeating Ensha of the Royal Remains isn't a requirement to beat Elden Ring, but it is a nice thing to have. It also offers a sense of fulfillment, which is to add beaten enemies to your collection.
How was your experience with Ensha or the Royal Remains? Did he punish you? Or is the battle with him an easy one? Let us know in the comments section.
