1. Eject the disc on the console's eject button.

The PlayStation 5 console has a dedicated eject button. You can find this button beside the power button. Press this button, and the console will eject the inserted disc in the disc slot. Pretty easy, isn't it?

2. Eject the disc through the UI using the DualSense controller.

While playing, you can go to the home screen by pressing the PS logo on your DualSense controller. Go to the game that you are playing, and press the options button. A menu will open, and select the "Eject Disc" option. This will eject the disc from the PS5.

If the game you're playing is the physical disc, the game will close. So, make sure to save your game's progress before doing this.

The disc is stuck and cannot be ejected. What should I do?

In this case, do not worry because you can still eject the stuck disc on your console. You just need to follow these steps:

Make sure that your console is turned off and unplugged. Make sure that the cables are also disconnected and let the console cool down before proceeding with manual removal of the disc inside the disc drive of the console.

Place the PS5 on a flat surface table. The disc tray should be on the left side.
Remove the console's bottom cover by pulling the top edge on the right side gently and sliding it down. This will remove the back cover of your console.
Once the cover is removed, you will see a panel with five screws. This is the optical drive of the PlayStation and the screw hole with a black plastic cover—what we call a manual eject screw. This is located at the left-most screw. You need to use a cross-hatch screwdriver. Turn the screw gently in a clockwise direction, and it will remove the game disc.

Note that some newer consoles do not have black rings in them, and that's okay.

Put the panel back. You must hear an audible click to ensure that the cover is properly placed.
